Running gives me an opportunity to be invincible. Runners are often faced with challenges on the run…snow, ice, rain, cold, hot, hills, etc. It’s not always exciting but we do it. When it’s over we get the sense that we can overcome more than just running a race. Those challenges prepare us for obstacles we face at home or work. They make us invincible.
When running the DC Rock and Roll half I knew it wouldn’t be my best time. I got a small injury in training and was nervous. I knew that I could not give up on the race. I trained and needed to finish. Today was cold and rainy so that made it tougher. I’m happy I did it and look forward to the next challenge.
